Kelli Nusspickel, 17, is a high school senior with big dreams for her future. With her laptop in hand, she’s sure to make some noise.

Nusspickel has been a dancer from the age of 2 and has always had an affinity for music. With her father also exposing her to a variety of music from a young age, it was no surprise when she took a knack for it.

Unsure how to mix her own music for a solo performance, Nusspickel took it upon herself to learn how. She invested time into understanding what makes a good cut.

Eventually she was asked to mix the music for her drill team, the award winning Emerald Belles.

Her “most recent project” Nusspickel said, “took upwards to 6 hours”. Her most recent mix being for the Emerald Belles appearance at a Dallas Mavericks half time show, where they high-kicked to classic rock.

As she looks to the future, she hopes to become a part of the music industry or use her talents for film and television. Her journey will continue at the University of Oklahoma this coming fall majoring in Media Production.
